[OOC/Filter: Here's the deal. Youji intended for this post to be ladies-only, but due to a variety of factors--lack of familiarity with the device, the gender ambiguity of some names, and the weather messing with the Dreamberries--it's pretty much failed. So anyone is free to see this post (or not see it!), but if you're not a cute girl over 18, he's going to be polite, but unenthusiastic. XD]

[Youji is sitting back on his couch, looking charmingly sheepish and pleasantly cheerful.]

Hello!

I'm laid up with a broken leg, and rather bored. I don't suppose anyone could help me out...? Any recommendations are appreciated. Books, movies, snacks, art supplies, or just your sparkling conversation!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely not. This is more like "tea while wrapped in a blanket" weather.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh very much so! And I have the very warmest blanket! It's fluffy and light blue. But I hope spring comes soon! This ice storm is terribly gloomifying! I've never seen such a terrible storm before!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Fluffy blankets are the best kind.

Were you here last winter?

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
I've only been here since December I'm afraid. But the winters in England were never this bad.

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Really now? This must be quite a difficult change for you.

I'll bet the spring in England is very lovely, then.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
At first it was lovely. I made a snow man. But now? I just want to see flowers again.

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
I understand. Winter always seem long, and spring not long enough.

You know, I work in a flower shop. [Or will.] What's your favorite flower?

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... My favorite flowers are white and pink lilies! What's your favorite?

//brb looking up language of flowers & hanakotoba

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
Those are good choices. White lilies mean "purity," did you know that?

I like orchids. [He gives them to girls, anyway.]

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
No I didn't! What do pink ones mean!

And orchids are very pretty too.

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Wealth and prosperity." Nice sentiment, right?

Orchids used to be very popular flowers, you know. People used to go on expeditions to South America just to find new species of them.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
I think the language of flowers sounds lovely. Although if you speak with them they most certainly don't say or sound like what they mean.

[Pauses because even to her that sounds like a bit confuddled but she can't help that.]

I didn't! But why travel across the ocean just to find a new species?

[Though she supposes if you're going to travel to a new country to find something, flowers are a certainly good reason. She's guilty of traveling through another world to find a beautiful garden.]

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, so that you can say you discovered a brand-new one, and so that you have one that no one else does, I suppose.

[He's never really liked the flower shop, but. This is kind of nice.]

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
If I discovered a new flower I wouldn't keep it to myself. Because if I kept it to myself and it died as flowers are wont to do then I wouldn't have it anymore!

And some people don't like certain flowers. And some people don't like flowers at all! Which I think is such a curious thing! How could you not like a single flower at all? In the entire world there isn't a flower someone likes? It just doesn't make any sense to me!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, eventually, the flowers make seeds that make more flowers, so they have to share.

I think, as much as different flowers have different meanings, some flowers mean different things to different people. So sometimes, they might mean bad things.

Did you know different places have different languages of flowers? In my country, we call it hanakotoba. I think England has a separate language--but white lilies mean the same thing in both.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Han-ah-coo-tub-ah? Goodness! And han-ah-coo-tub-ah means the "language of flowers?" in your language?

And I wonder why the white lily means the same! Although that's very nice to know!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
That's right!

I don't really know, but I'll bring some lilies to your tea party, how about that?

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
Really! Oh thank you so very much Mr. Yo-gee!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
You're very welcome, Miss Alice.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
That's very kind of you sir! They'll look so lovely on the table!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'll make sure you get only the best.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! Ah! Since you're holed up with a broken leg who is cooking for you Mr. Yo-gee?

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
A couple of my friends know how to cook--we're in the same apartment complex, so we don't have to go outside to see each other.

[identity profile] madcuriosity.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
Ah well as a thank you for the flowers I would like to make you something!

[identity profile] slantedcross.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you invited me to your tea party, didn't you? The flowers are my thank you for that.
