[If you think Youji looks out of place sitting in a field of grass, you're right. As he turns on his Dreamberry, he can be heard muttering things about grass stains and his gratitude that his expensive Armani slacks are not here if one listens carefully.

Slightly easier to perceive is the brief look of surprise on his face, as he sees the date. He shakes his head and gives the camera a lightly wry smile.]

Does anyone ever get tired of hearing 'I've been asleep for a week, what did I miss?' Permit me to shake things up a bit. Last I knew, it was February, and I was in my apartment. Now it's June, and I'm in the middle of the field.

I've lost nights before, but this is pushing it just a bit.

[He smiles genially.]

A lesser man would probably give up drinking at this turn of events, but thankfully, I'm not that fragile.

[Private to Weiss]

I don't expect explanations, but something cold and stiff would be appreciated. And nothing work related is meant by that.

...you know, given Ken and Sena's prolonged existences, I should have suspected.

So what now? Do we just keep killing him when he least expects it? He has to be dead for a little while--Ken was. It's not practical to keep ambushing him every time he reincarnates, but if you're warning me about him, he must still be at large.

I'm warning you because you deserve that, Youji. But I will not have us killing him constantly. We are better than that and I will not put us or those we care about in danger by doing that.

He was caught by the police but released without his powers. I don't know how long something like that might last or how long he will restrain from killing. We need to be aware of him if nothing else.

Right, right... for now, anyway.

If all four of us agree not to kill him, then I will certainly follow suit.

As for how long he will refrain from killing, well. I remember how brutally Ken was killed. And purely by weapons.

He's a Dark Beast, Aya. If we can't kill him and the police won't incarcerate him, we probably should figure something out. But I'm sure Ken and Omi have already discussed this with you.

Trust me. I don't like this anymore than the rest of us. But all of Somarium is aware of what he's done.

I am also very aware of what he is capable of.

That said, we are not law enforcement. Should we be caught in any way or if he were to tell someone we killed him then it wouldn't be his punishment. It would be ours. We can't accomplish anything if we become the criminals everyone is watching.

Mm. I like it better when the people I kill stay dead.

Exactly how did all of this go down? Start from when I left, as you put it, and don't leave anything out. How'd the police get him? Don't try to tell me you, Omi, and Ken weren't involved at all--I know you too well to believe that.

Ken wasn't here at the time. By the time Omi and I found out that it was Muraki he was on the run. He came to the flower shop to return memories he'd stolen from Omi when he'd kidnapped him.

That slowed us down which is how the police got to him.

So they can catch him, but they can't keep him.

You do realize, it's idiocy like this that even necessitates a Weiss.

And the fact that we know that we are murdering is why Weiss is a secret and not revealed to the population here. If the necessity was right, why would we hide it?

[He closes his eyes a moment. Almost like he's recalling an old memory.] There will always be a need for those who are willing to do what is frowned upon because no one else will.

For your next trick, can you remind me why I have to breathe every few minutes or so?

Because you would prefer I not give you mouth to mouth to revive you.

CPR tends to involve vomit.

It would hurt you more than it would hurt me.

Yet we'd never forget the blow to your pride to have male lips touch yours.

Yet I would at least have the solace of a woman's lips to wash the memory away.

You, on the other hand...

I'd rephrase that to sound more depressing or derogatory to you but I don't think that's possible, Aya.

Taking all the fun out of my life.
